Dontbet – Public Awareness Campaign Photomontage
This academic project was developed for the Digital Graphic Design course at UTN Multimedial in Buenos Aires, specifically within the Photoshop module. The assignment required creating a photomontage addressing a public cause or social issue, providing an opportunity to apply technical skills while engaging with meaningful content.
The Challenge The project brief called for developing a public awareness banner that would combine multiple visual elements through photomontage techniques while addressing a significant social issue. The assignment required demonstrating proficiency in image composition, color correction, and visual storytelling methods covered throughout the course curriculum. The chosen focus was gambling addiction, specifically targeting the growing concern around online betting platforms and their impact on personal finances and mental health.
The Solution I created “Dontbet,” a fictional public awareness brand focused on gambling addiction prevention. Using Adobe Photoshop, the design process involved developing a cohesive visual identity and banner design that could effectively communicate the risks associated with online gambling. The photomontage technique allowed for combining various visual elements to create compelling imagery that would resonate with audiences potentially affected by gambling-related issues.
The technical execution applied course concepts including layer composition, color adjustment, typography integration, and visual hierarchy to create a banner suitable for public awareness campaigns. The design approach balanced educational messaging with visual impact, considering how the material might function in real-world awareness contexts.
The Impact The completed project fulfilled the academic requirements while creating awareness material for an important social issue. The work demonstrated technical proficiency in photomontage techniques while engaging with the serious topic of gambling addiction and its effects on individuals and communities.
