This academic project explored advanced image editing and AI-based image generation techniques, combining traditional Photoshop workflows with Nano Banana’s generative capabilities. The work was developed as part of Digital Image Processing II, focusing on the integration of manual retouching, compositing, and AI-driven visual enhancement.

The Challenge
The goal was to recreate a hyperreal automotive scene inspired by the Need for Speed aesthetic, blending elements of speed, light, and motion into a cohesive digital composition. The challenge involved balancing technical realism with stylized energy, using non-destructive Photoshop workflows and AI-generated material to extend creative possibilities without losing visual consistency.

The Solution
The visual direction centered on designing a futuristic racing scenario—an imaginary fusion between cinematic realism and fantasy. Using Adobe Photoshop’s advanced adjustment tools and Nano Banana’s image generation features, multiple visual experiments were conducted to test how generative systems could serve as creative partners in building complex lighting setups, reflections, and environmental effects. The final piece combined practical photography, color grading, and AI-generated context into a seamless visual narrative.

The Impact
The project demonstrates how hybrid workflows—merging traditional compositing and emerging AI generation—can expand the boundaries of digital image creation.
